The Template Editor allows you to change button properties, move them around, and set what they do. |

Adding and Removing buttons |

Right click on any existing button |
|

To add a button before, choose Insert Before |
|

To add a button after, choose Insert After |
|
|
To delete the button that you clicked, choose Delete |
|

Right click on the button you want to move |
|
|
To move it left, choose Move Left |
|
|
To move it right, choose Move Right |
|

|
|
You can move a button onto a different side
When the mouse pointer changes to this means the button will be
inserted between two buttons.
When the mouse pointer changes to this means the button will be
swapped with whichever button you are on top of. |

|
|
|
|
To swap entire sides around, right-click on a side and choose Make this the Top (or whatever). The swap will be made with the side that you choose. |
|
|
|
|
|
Properties |
|
|
Button caption
This is the text that will appear on the button. If your button is used to display a drop-list of choices, then the caption should be used to describe the choices. |

|
|
|
Tip To renumber your buttons after moving them around, right-click a button and choose Renumber |
|
|
|
|
|
Float-over help
This is the text that will appear when you move the mouse over the button. If you leave it blank and you have set the button to produce an annotation, the annotation will be shown as the float-over help (and gender-sensitive if appropriate). |

|
|
|
Button colour scheme
Click the word Sample to change the background and text colours of the button. |
|
|
|
|
|
Carriage return before annotation
If this is ticked you will get a new line before the start of the annotation text.
If this is unticked then the annotation will appear at the cursor position. |

|
|
|
|
Carriage return after annotation
If this ticked you will get a new line after the end of your annotation text.
If this is unticked the cursor will stay on the same line as the annotation text. |
|
|
|
|
|
Tip Keep this option unticked for phrases such as The caller asked for a brochure on, where you will be typing a product name after the end of the phrase. |

|
|
|
Annotation |
|
|
This is a phrase or block of text that will be pasted into your conversation notes when you click the button.
You can have Male and Female versions of the phrase and the relevant one will be used based on the Contact's title.
You can use different fonts, styles and colours in your text. If you use the template somewhere where formatted text isn't supported (such as the cells of a table) then formatting will be ignored. |

To copy the Male version of your annotation into the Female box, click

To copy the Female version of your annotation into the Male box, click
Copy female text into male box |
|
|
|
|
|
Tip You can have a fairly large amount of formatted text under each button if you wish. For example, you could have an entire standard letter under each button, or paragraphs to build a standard contract. |

|
|
Note If you have only filled in the male box and you use the template for a female contact, or vice-versa, the available text will be used even if the gender might be inappropriate. |

|
|
|
Drop-list |
|
|
You can set a button to display a drop-list of choices:
For example, if you set the button caption to be Products, you could display a drop-list of all your products to be used after phrases such as Caller requested a brochure on:.
You can also have proper sentences in a drop list:
For example, if you set the button caption to be No response, you could display a drop-list of phrases such as Not at his desk and Away on holiday and I left a voicemail message.
The Male drop-list is what will appear if the context is a male contact, or unknown. The Female drop-list will appear for a female contact. |

To add a drop-list item
Enter the caption in the box and click the
Add button |

To delete a drop-list item
Choose the item to be deleted and click the
Delete button |

Drop-list items will appear in the same order as they are here. |
